The person named above is the controller for the processing of personal data on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). I have not appointed a data protection officer, as there is no obligation to do so.
In a nutshell
This website works without cookies, without tracking and without embedded third-party services. Personal data is only processed because a web server logs requests for technical reasons, and if you contact me yourself. The exception is the password-protected area camper.maether.it, which is described separately below.
Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The servers are located in Germany. The host processes data on my behalf and is bound by my instructions (data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR).
Every time the website is accessed, the server automatically processes data transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, requested page, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website, detect errors and fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website.
The log files are only stored for as long as necessary for these purposes and are then deleted or anonymised.
No cookies, no tracking
www.maether.it does not set cookies and does not store or read any information on your device that is not technically required to display the page (§ 25 TDDDG). There are no analytics or tracking services and no social media plugins.
Fonts, images and all other files are loaded directly from this server. Visiting the website does not transfer any data to third parties such as Google.
Contact by email, phone or WhatsApp
If you contact me, I process the details you provide (for example your name, contact details and the content of your message) in order to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, carry out an order.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or steps prior to entering into one. In all other cases it is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is being able to answer enquiries.
Emails are stored in my mailbox with the host ALL-INKL.COM named above, in Germany.
I delete the data once your enquiry has been dealt with. If an order is placed, I keep business records such as quotes, invoices and business letters for as long as required by commercial and tax law (up to ten years, § 147 AO, § 257 HGB).
The WhatsApp link on this website is a plain link. No data is transferred to WhatsApp unless you click it.
If you message me via WhatsApp, you use the service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. WhatsApp processes, among other things, your phone number and communication metadata. A transfer to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the USA is possible. Meta is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists. Message content is end-to-end encrypted. Further details can be found in WhatsApp's privacy policy.

Camper tracker (camper.maether.it)
At camper.maether.it I run a private, password-protected area where I view the trips of my own camper van. It is only meant for me and people I give the password to.
After logging in, two cookies are set: a session cookie and a cookie that keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. Both are technically required for the login (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and are deleted when you log out. To protect against attacks, the number of failed login attempts is briefly stored together with the IP address.
The map loads map tiles from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. In doing so, your IP address is transmitted to the OpenStreetMap Foundation. An adequacy decision of the European Commission exists for the United Kingdom. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is displaying the map.
Recipients and storage location
Your data is only passed on to the host named above as a processor. Beyond that, I do not pass it on to third parties unless I am legally obliged to do so. Data is only transferred outside the EU in the cases described above: if you message me via WhatsApp or the map is loaded in the camper tracker.
Your rights
You have the right of access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
An informal message to the contact details above is sufficient.
Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR
Where I process your data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. I will then no longer process the data unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
Further information
You are under no legal or contractual obligation to provide me with personal data. Without the data in the server log files, however, the website cannot be delivered, and without contact details I cannot reply to you.
There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

For security reasons this website uses TLS encryption. You can recognise it by "https://" in your browser's address bar.
I update this privacy policy whenever the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
